The Bishop’s Palace
Romeo & Juliet
September 15 @ 7:00 pm BST - 8:30 pm
Tickets for this performance are available at the Bishop’s Palace website, here!
Three HandleBards cooped up together during lockdown. Fuelled by cabin fever and a bookshelf full of Shakespeare, we did what the Bards do best and created an unhinged and bonkers, laugh-out-loud version of Romeo & Juliet.
With music, mayhem and more costume changes than you can shake a spear at, expect our usual irreverent, charming and hilarious style to come bursting onto the stage at the Shuttleworth Estate.
Forget the tears and tragedy, pack a picnic and get ready for some socially-distanced, live and wired Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before.
This is an outdoor production so please feel free to bring your own chairs, blankets and cushions. The show running time is 90 minutes (without an interval).
How it will work
We’ll be seating households and social bubbles at a social distance for the performance, in line with government regulations. Please make sure that booking is for your household/social bubble only. This will give us an idea of how many groups/picnics there will be on the day. If you want to book for someone else who isn’t in your household or social bubble that’s fine – just book for your household and then book their tickets as a new transaction.
The show will take place outdoors, in all weathers, so please dress appropriately. We won’t allow umbrellas onsite as they block sight lines – but ponchos and raincoats can be rather fetching. You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic to the show – as long as you promise to take your rubbish with you when you go, and recycle everything you can!
